Winklepicker! is the annual February shebang, good ol’ times, merrymaking, whatever you want to call it hosted by the fine folks at The Mighty Albert, Elmer’s Store, and Signature Sounds. Each year is different. This year is a crazy Mardi Gras celebration in Ashfield!
There are weekend package prices as well as tickets available for individual events throughout the weekend. (Note: the cooking workshops have limited slots and the Kids Camp is limited to 10 students). It's time to book your plane tickets. Come on down!
All events are snow or shine! No
refunds. Note: All tickets ordered online will be held at the Will Call window of each venue for pickup. Please bring the receipt that was mailed (or emailed) to you for pickup.

Cajun and Creole Cooking Workshops with renowned New Orleans Chef Michelle Nugent
New Orleans chef Michelle Nugent, the Food Director of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, has always had an enthusiasm for good food. From her first apprenticeship with Susan Spicer at the Bistro at the Maison DeVille, Michelle has been dedicated to the craftsmanship and lore of food and cooking. Her resume boasts time spent cooking at New Orleans and California restaurants like Bayona, Gabrielle, Brigtsen's, Peristyle, Bacco, Restaurant Matisse and Restaurant Siena. In 1997 Michelle collaborated with Spicer to open Spice, Inc., a retail store/take-out deli and cooking school in New Orleans' warehouse district where she was executive chef and a cooking instructor.
Cooking workshops with Michelle are Friday, Saturday and another on Sunday (different focus each day), upstairs at Elmer's. Limited slots available. Advance reservation strongly suggested. (Accommodations are not included)

Participants bring their own lunch (beverages provided) and their own instruments- guitar, fiddle, or accordion. To wrap up the workshop, participants play before Buckwheat Zydeco hits the stage.
$25 Per Student (includes one adult ticket admission to the Buckwheat Zydeco concert and after-party)
Winklepicklet: The Kids Ticket! ($10, for kids age 3-12)
Winklepicklet (the kids ticket) is good at any and all of the concerts. So, for $10, a kid this age can attend the Chris Smither concert, the Mardi Gras Ball, or BOTH. Age 2 and under - FREE.

We'll have 2 seatings: The first at 9:30 a.m. and the second at 10:45 a.m. where we'll have a brunch with:
New Orleans Shrimp and Grits, Pain Perdu (French Toast,) Scrambled Eggs and Bacon or Sausage, Muffins, Scones, Orange Juice and Coffee for $20.
